Council and TfL tickets
A Penalty Charge Notice from a council or TfL follows different rules from a private parking charge, with its own deadlines and a free independent tribunal. We're building the same free check and appeal letters for these.
What it will cover
- Council parking tickets
- Bus lane fines
- Yellow box junctions and banned turns
- London congestion charge and ULEZ penalties
- Dart Charge fines
What you should know now
- You have 28 days to challenge. Challenge within 14 days and the 50% discount is usually kept open.
- Appeals to London Tribunals and the Traffic Penalty Tribunal are free.
- In 2025/26, drivers won 48.9% of the appeals London Tribunals heard, yet only 0.55% of tickets were appealed.
- In London, parking penalties are £160 or £110, and bus lane and moving traffic penalties £160, halved if paid within 14 days.
