Private parking charges · UK

Got a parking charge? Pay us £12 only if it gets cancelled.

Photograph the notice. We check it against the law and the industry's own rules, then write your appeal. If the charge stands, you pay us nothing.

How we know: upload their rejection, or your receipt if you paid them, and you owe nothing. If we haven't had either within 60 days of your letter, we treat the charge as cancelled and charge £12. We email you twice first.

Check my charge, freeTakes about 3 minutes. No card needed to see your result.
Step 1

Photograph it

The letter or the windscreen ticket. We read the dates, times and wording.

Step 2

See your grounds

Free. We show what we found and how strong it is, or tell you straight if there's nothing.

Step 3

Send the appeal

Letters are coming soon. Until then, we show you the grounds to use in your own appeal.

What we check

The 14-day rule
A camera-only charge has to reach the keeper within 14 days of the parking. If it's late, they can't make the keeper pay, only the driver.
Missing legal wording
The letter must contain specific warnings and information. Many don't.
Grace periods
The industry code allows at least 10 minutes after your time runs out, and 5 minutes to read the signs.
Where you parked
Most stations and many airports run on byelaws, and the keeper-liability law doesn't apply there.
Scotland and Northern Ireland
There's no keeper liability at all. Only the driver can be pursued.
What happened
Paid but typed the reg wrong, a broken machine, a Blue Badge, a breakdown, unclear signs.

Straight answers

Right now the check is free and appeal letters aren't available yet. When they are, this is how they'll work:

  • Appealing yourself is free. We save you the research and the writing, and we only get paid when it works.
  • Our letters are written as the registered keeper and never say who was driving.
  • We handle the appeal to the parking company and to POPLA or IAS. We don't handle court: if it ever gets that far, we tell you where to get free advice.
  • We only take on charges where we've found real grounds. If we find none, we tell you, and take no card.
  • If they reject it or you pay them, upload the letter or receipt and you owe us nothing. If we've had neither 60 days after your letter, we treat it as cancelled and charge £12. We remind you by email first.
