Last checked 27 October 2026. General information, not legal advice.
How to do it
- For the insured scheme, first ask your landlord or agent for the deposit back formally, and allow 10 calendar days for a reply.
- Raise the dispute on the mydeposits website. For the insured scheme you'll need the DPC number.
- You must raise it within three months of the date you moved out.
If mydeposits says no
- mydeposits' resolution service is free. All parties (you and your landlord or agent) have to agree to use it.
