About CancelMyCharge

We check UK private parking charges against the law and the industry's rules, and tell you straight whether you have grounds to appeal.

Who runs it

CancelMyCharge is run by Robustus AI - FZCO, a company registered in the IFZA free zone, Dubai, United Arab Emirates (licence number 93196). Our address is DSO-IFZA, IFZA Properties, Dubai Silicon Oasis, Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

We're not a law firm and we don't give legal advice. We don't handle court claims: if you get a letter before claim or court papers, get free advice from Citizens Advice straight away.

How the check works

  1. You photograph the notice. An AI model reads the dates, times, amounts and wording from the photo.
  2. You confirm or correct what it read, and answer a few questions about what happened.
  3. Fixed checks written in code, not the AI, test those facts against the Protection of Freedoms Act 2012 and the industry code: the 14-day rule, the wording the notice must contain, grace periods, byelaw land, and Scotland and Northern Ireland.
  4. We show you what we found and how strong it is. If there's nothing, we say so.

Appeal letters are coming soon. When they open, they'll cost £12, and only if your charge is cancelled. You can always appeal to the parking company, POPLA or the IAS yourself for free.

How we write our guides

  • From the source: the legislation, the government's Private Parking Code, the appeals services and the companies' own published rules. Every guide lists its sources.
  • Every guide shows the date its facts were last checked.
  • We check for changes to parking law every week and record them on law updates.
  • If you spot a mistake, tell us and we'll fix it.
